Great Books, music, and videos... just for you!

JEN'S YOGA BOOK LIST...

  • “Yoga For Healthy Aging” by Baxter Bell, MD, and Nina Zolotow [I was lucky enough to do a certification with Baxter. This is a fantastic book with good, well-rounded and focused practices. I often retool them and adjust the shapes because the model demos more traditional approaches.]
  • "Accessible Yoga" by Jivana Heyman (I did a certification with Jivana. This, too, is a fabulous book. It has LOTS of options for practicing so many shapes—for all bodies and abilities]
  • “Yoga For  Arthritis”, “Yoga For Back Pain”, and “Yoga For Osteoporosis” by Loren Fishman, MD, and Ellen Saltonstall [Incredibly adept at orienting Yogis around these conditions—and carefully breaking down the whys and hows of approaching your practice with them in mind.]
  • “Relax Into Yoga For Seniors”, “Healing Yoga For Neck & Shoulder Pain”, and "Yoga Sparks" by Carol Krucoff [Everything she does is fantastic. She’s very user-friendly and easy to follow.  Functional and fun.]
  • "Intelligent Yoga" by Peter Blackaby [This book is hard to get ahold of—but very worth it. It’s more about the approach to Yoga than offering sequences or examples of shapes—and more about approaching your practice as a living, breathing, being. He’s an osteopath and a teacher. A great read.]
  • “Chair Yoga” by Kristin McGee [I love her joy and her wide variety of options for chair practice. Her mini-practices are fantastic!]
  • “Lifelong Yoga” by Sage Roundtree and Alexandra Desiato [Great collection of practices for every occasion or life-event. I reference this often.]
  • "Rethink Your Position", “Dynamic Aging” and “Move Your DNA” by Katy Bowman [Biomechanist with life-changing insights about movement that we can all learn from and introduce to our lives right now.]
  • "Yoga For Everyone" and “Yoga Where You Are” by Dianne Bondy [Studied with Diane. She is in a bigger body—and she speaks to making space for yourself. She’s empowering and fabulous at adapting shapes.]
  • “Yoga For Bendy People” by Libby Hinsley [Hypermobile or hyperflexible? This one’s for you!]
  • "The Power Of Breath And Hand Yoga" by Christine Burke [Breathing AND Mudra? This has lovely and      accessible customizable practices—depending on your needs.]
  • "Mudras For Healing And Transformation" by Joseph Le Page and Lilian Aboim [This is kinda the bible for Mudra practitioners. I love it—but I’m a total nerd.]
  • "Restorative Yoga For Beginners" by Julia Clark [I used to teach a TON of Restorative Yoga—and this is one of my favorite books to share with folks. She studied with my teacher, Judith Hansen Lasater… and I like how she’s presented the practice a LOT.]
  • "Yoga For Times Of Change" by Nina Zolotow [Life throws curve-balls… and this book offers really supportive practices and ways of navigating with love and care.]
  • “Radiant Rest” by Tracee Stanley [Beautiful Nidra, Restorative, Gentle, and meditative practices…steeped in nature and humanity. It’s just lovely.]
  • “Wherever You Go, There You Are” by Jon Kabat-Zinn [My favorite meditation book on the planet. Accessible and applicable to our day-to-day. Aces.]
  • "The Inspired Yoga Teacher" by Gabrielle Harris [It’s intended for teachers… but it resonates with any creative practitioner who’s interested in splashing around in the possibilities of all the limbs of Yoga!]
